Everyone loves a good fashion bargain, but short of waiting for sales and paying stupid prices for stuff that’s already a season old or rummaging through op shops and sorting through old undies and parachute tracksuits, the ol’ bargain can be hard to come by.
Enter the fashion market. These markets are starting to pop up all over the place and the more the better! The stall holders at these markets vary. Some stall holders are having massive wardrobe clean outs, which means most of their stuff is in great condition. You’ll find lots of ‘only worn once’ stuff and garments that people well… you know how it is!
The great thing about these markets is the stall holders are usually contemporary and fashion savvy, so you’ll be sure not to find your grandma’s wardrobe for sale.
Other fashion markets are platforms for budding, young fashion designers to sell their latest designs. These markets are a great way to get locally designed and made fashion items with a much lower than retail price tag. Lisa Ho and Sass & Bide are two big names that got their big break from selling at the local markets.
