Happy New Year and welcome to the first blog for 2015 and another creative year for Tony and June. Looking at the number of markets already penciled in for this year it is making us both excited and tired! It also gives us so much to look forward to. 2014 was a wonderful year and full of creativity, fun and many new friends. Although we had a break over the Christmas period Tony was never too far from the studio and when not physically creating a new piece he was planning what to make next. Luckily for me one of the projects he has taken on is to replace all our existing crockery with glass. So far we have dinner plates, breakfast bowls and small cake plates. This has given me a two-fold pleasure. Not only do I eat off some beautiful plates but I actually enjoy washing up because I get to admire them as they come out of the water. I am sure this will pass. People have asked from time to time about the durability of the glass and their fear of breakage, well I can honestly say that I don’t take any greater care with the plates than I did before, surprisingly glass is a tough medium. So expect to see some wonderful dinnerware on show in the coming months, there are already several breakfast bowls to choose from.
Our first market is this Sunday, 11 January, at Maldon so as usual you will find us in the park near the gates in the shade of the lovely big trees. We hope you will drop by and say hello, maybe you will find a small treat for yourself, as I am sure you deserve one.
