Harmonicandles uses 100% pure locally made soy wax. Unlike most wax (beeswax used for over 1,000 years is an animal product) Soy wax is made from pure oil of soybeans making it a vegetable wax.
After harvesting the beans, they are then cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated (convert fatty acids in oil from unsaturated to saturated) Leftover bean husks are used for animal feed.
Burning soy candles are safer for your skin than burning parrafin based wax candles as soy produces little to no soot.
Soy wax is also a natural moisturiser, rich in vitamin E! the oil can be used to soften dry skin elbows, knees, hands, and feet. Also helps to relieve conditions such as psoriasis and eczema.
