Bringing together some of Melbourne’s most celebrated food trucks, including Hammer & Tong, Hoy Pinoy and The Little Mushroom Co., as well as a carefully curated selection of fresh food purveyors such as Cobb Lane Bakery and Shtetl Woodfired Bagels, Hank Marvin Market @ Alma Park East is Melbourne’s newest southside go-to Saturday destination.
Drawing its name from British Cockney slang for ‘starving’, Hank Marvin Market is conveniently located minutes away from popular Chapel Street. It will feature a pop up outdoor dining hall designed to protect customers from the elements. “Hank Marvin is about offering consistently great street food and interesting fresh produce within a relaxed, picturesque setting,” says founder, Paul Wesolek. “I want to create a village-like atmosphere where locals have a sense of ownership of the space”.
Hank Marvin traders have been carefully hand-picked because they champion issues such as food provenance, responsible farming methods, seasonality and quality, which is the philosophy of Wesolek and his team. Showcasing the community focus of the market, Hank Marvin will host rotating stalls from ‘newbie’ traders as well as community organisations; waiving pitch fees and helping with set-up costs.
